Enrolled Nurse

This is a unique opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to gain experience across both the Surgical Admissions Unit and Surgical Outpatients Department. The role offers exposure to a variety of surgical specialties, continuity of patient care throughout the surgical journey, and the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team. This position is shared between the Surgical Admissions Unit (60 hours per fortnight) and the Surgical Outpatients Department (16 hours per fortnight), providing a diverse and rewarding clinical experience across two key surgical services.

About the Team
The Surgical Outpatient Department at Queensland Children's Hospital provides specialist outpatient care across Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Limb Surgery, and Gastroenterology. The service delivers multidisciplinary assessment, treatment, pre- and post-operative care, and ongoing management for a diverse paediatric patient population, supporting high-volume clinics and complex care pathways across multiple specialties.
4B Surgical Admissions Unit (SAU) is a specialised unit responsible for the admission, assessment, and preparation of patients undergoing elective surgical procedures. The unit provides a coordinated admission pathway that ensures patients are clinically prepared for surgery and that all required pre-operative assessments, documentation, investigations, and care requirements are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.
You'll fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 3 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
