  • Base salary range: $111,993 to $121,853 p.a. (AO5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for transforming data into information to inform public health decision making in a dynamic and changing environment.

This position supports the epidemiology and data management capability of the Townsville Public Health Unit (TPUH) in providing timely and accurate health data to internal and external stakeholders. It operates closely with the Senior Epidemiologist and Communicable Disease Control Team to assist TPHU and THHS Executive to make informed decisions regarding immunisation and disease control. In outbreak situations the position will develop, manage and populate databases to manage cases, contacts.

While not mandatory, relevant tertiary qualifications, skills or experience in advanced data interpretation, analysis and presentation would be highly regarded. Preferred experience with:

  • Queensland Health Clinical and Administrative Information Systems, including the Integrated Electronic Medical Record (ieMR), Notifiable Conditions Database, AUSLAB and Worldcare.
  • SQL, Microsoft tools: PowerBI, Power Automate, Visual Studio, Excel.
  • Crystal Reports.
