About your opportunity

As a member of the Townsville Mental Health Service Group (MHSG), in the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (CLP) team, the Nurse Practitioner will provide an advanced and extended nursing scope of practice to inpatient treatment areas of the Townsville University Hospital (TUH). The aims of the CLP team are to provide timely, specialist consultation and management of psychiatric comorbidities in a general hospital setting.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $158,344 to $165,320 p.a. (NG8)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Add in about flexible working arrangements if applicable to role or hiring manager

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Qualification: Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • A Nurse Practitioner will be required to complete THHS credentialing:  Upon commencement of their role, and  Every 3 years.
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.
  • Highly Desirable: Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
