The D3 South Ward is a newly established 32-bed unit providing comprehensive, patient-centred care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to a General Medicine patient cohort. The ward delivers coordinated multidisciplinary care, ensuring patients receive holistic assessment, treatment, and discharge planning throughout their admission.

D3 South is committed to delivering culturally safe and responsive care, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This includes recognising and respecting cultural values and practices, incorporating Indigenous perspectives into care delivery, and ensuring that healthcare is inclusive, respectful, and person-centred.

About your role:

  • Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with individuals, peers, and the healthcare team to achieve goals and positive health outcomes across the health continuum.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards specifically related to nursing clinical practices.
  • Maintain the safety of recipients of healthcare services by identifying risk and undertaking safe work activities within the clinical practice environment.
  • Participate in incident investigation and quality improvements to promote safe and/or rectify unsafe practice.
  • Provide support, guidance, preceptorship, supervision and mentoring to healthcare team as appropriate.
