About us:

Welcome to Baralaba Multipurpose Health Service, where small-town care makes a big impact! Our spacious facility provides patient-centred care in a warm rural setting, with most inpatient rooms offering private ensuites and unique country views.

We support our local community with acute inpatient care, residential care, respite and palliative care, plus a 24-hour emergency service supported by Telehealth and emergency retrieval services.

Our Telehealth connections also bring specialist care closer to home, helping patients access appointments without the long trip whenever possible. And when travel is needed, Queensland Ambulance Service Patient Transit Service helps locals get to specialist appointments in Rockhampton.

About the role:

  • Lead with confidence. Bring your advanced nursing skills to provide safe, evidence-based care, develop and evaluate care plans, and take ownership of your practice and outcomes.
  • Be a team champion. Work closely with RNs, patients, families and the broader healthcare team, while supporting, mentoring and being a positive role model for newer team members.
  • Keep care safe and improving. Follow best-practice policies and standards, identify and manage risks, contribute to quality improvement and help make great care even better.
  • Keep learning and leading. Share your knowledge, support health education, embrace professional development and contribute to evidence-based practice, research and team decision-making.

About you:

  • 🎓 You're a currently registered Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate. You bring sound, evidence-based clinical skills and knowledge.
  • 🌾 Aged care or rural nursing experience is a bonus, but what really matters is your commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
  • 🤝Communicate respectfully, work well with others, adapt to change and know how to navigate tricky situations with calm negotiation skills.
  • 💬 Communicate clearly and accurately, uphold the Queensland Public Service Code of Conduct and proudly represent Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
