Rockhampton Hospital is Central Queensland's major regional referral centre, delivering a broad range of specialist and acute healthcare services across areas including Emergency, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Intensive Care, Mental Health and Women's Health.

About the role:

  • 📅 Coordinate specialist waitlists and appointments — manage bookings, cancellations and rescheduling in line with clinical requirements and service targets.
  • 💻 Maintain accurate patient records — ensure information is current, confidential and correctly recorded across systems including HBCIS.
  • 📞 Provide high-quality administrative support — manage reception, correspondence, enquiries, records and day-to-day patient administration.
  • 🤝 Deliver a professional, patient-focused service — communicate effectively with patients, families, clinicians, referrers and other stakeholders.
  • ⚡ Keep the service running smoothly — prioritise competing demands, work autonomously, meet deadlines and contribute to quality improvement and education initiatives.

About you:

  • Confidently manage waitlists, appointments, correspondence, records and competing priorities in a busy healthcare setting.
  • Experience or ability to learn electronic patient records and systems such as HBCIS, QUEUE Manager or Patient Flow, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Communicate professionally and sensitively with patients, families, clinicians, referrers and other stakeholders across multiple channels.
  • Use sound judgement, manage competing demands and keep services running smoothly with minimal supervision.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $101,073 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $40.17 - $44.67 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
