About the role
As the Nurse Unit Manager for East Wing and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) within Metro North Mental Health at The Prince Charles Hospital, you will provide advanced clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, consumer-centred mental health services. You will be accountable for the effective coordination, management, and continuous improvement of nursing services, while promoting excellence in clinical practice and achieving service performance outcomes.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, you will lead service delivery across the patient journey, drive evidence-based practice, support quality improvement initiatives, and foster a positive learning culture. This role plays a key part in workforce development, change management, and enhancing outcomes for consumers receiving mental health care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Lead and coordinate nursing and multidisciplinary teams across East Wing and ECT to deliver high-quality, consumer-centred mental health care.
- Monitor nursing standards, quality indicators, and service performance targets while driving quality improvement, education, and research initiatives.
- Provide operational leadership, including workforce planning, performance management, and the application of contemporary human resource management practices.
- Promote a positive learning environment through mentoring, succession planning, and staff development to build workforce capability.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, legislation, organisational policies, and Mental Health Act requirements, including accurate clinical documentation.
