About us:
Gladstone Emergency Department is a busy, 24-hour service at the frontline of acute healthcare, providing care to approximately 35,000 patients every year. Caring for patients across the lifespan, the department delivers everything from initial assessment and treatment through to definitive care, resuscitation and stabilisation prior to admission or transfer to tertiary centres.
With around 25% of presentations involving paediatric patients and a dedicated paediatric zone soon to be commissioned, the department continues to grow and evolve. Servicing a large regional community, this is a dynamic environment where the pace is fast, the work is varied and the team plays a critical role in delivering emergency care around the clock.
About the role:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to inpatients and outpatients through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
- Respond confidently in changing clinical situations, using sound clinical judgement, professional expertise and evidence-based practice to support safe patient outcomes.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, partnering with Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health and Medical staff to provide holistic care for patients and their families.
- Practise with autonomy and accountability, taking responsibility for clinical decisions, delegating appropriately and supporting Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and healthcare workers.
About you:
- Current RN registration with AHPRA/NMBA and sound knowledge of professional, legal and contemporary nursing standards; Prior ED experience is preferred.
- Strong clinical capability, with proven ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient-centred care.
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making, particularly when responding to rapidly changing situations, solving problems and planning safe patient care.
- Strong communication and teamwork, building effective relationships with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $128,480 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.79 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
