About the role

As a Clinical Nurse within Ward 4B - General Rehabilitation at STARS, you will provide advanced clinical nursing care to consumers with a wide range of rehabilitation needs. You will apply expert clinical knowledge, evidence-based practice, and sound clinical judgement to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting the day-to-day functions of the ward.

Working collaboratively within an interprofessional team, you will provide leadership, education, and guidance to nursing staff, patients, and families. The role also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, supports professional development, and assists in maintaining a safe and effective care environment that promotes positive patient outcomes and independence.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced clinical nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver patient-centred rehabilitation care.
  • Respond to complex and changing patient conditions using advanced clinical decision-making and intervention skills.
  • Support and mentor nursing staff through leadership, education, and professional development activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to promote safe, effective, and coordinated care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
