About your opportunity

The Director Management Accounting provides strategic leadership and direction for the management accounting function across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial performance reporting, ABF/ABM analysis, and financial governance processes to ensure THHS meets its financial obligations and strategic objectives. This position leads a high performing team, drives financial sustainability, and provides authoritative financial advice to the Executive, Service Group Directors, and governance committees.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $179,569 to $193,698 p.a. (HSO1-3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • A degree in accounting, commerce, business or related field.
  • Full CPA/CA membership is required.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association..
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated senior-level experience in financial leadership, management accounting, and strategic financial planning in a large complex organisation.
  • Highly regarded: Extensive knowledge of ABF/ABM, health funding models, and financial governance frameworks.
