About the Birth Centre:

The Townsville Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) provides midwifery care, within a continuity of care model, to a defined group of women within the public birthing community of Townsville.  MGP Birth Centre is a group of 11 midwives who aim to facilitate active, physiological birth with minimal intervention through the provision of physical, emotional and social support and preparation in partnership with the woman and her family.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $114,532 to $122,643 p.a. (NG6-1)
  • 35% annualised salary loading
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity:

The Caseload Clinical Midwife (NG6) at the Birth Centre is the lead maternity carer who provides antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal caseload midwifery care, support and education for up to 40 women per year within a freestanding Birth Centre. 

The Clinical Midwife - Caseload will provide clinical leadership and expertise, with support and education to other Midwives within the Birth Centre MGP, ensuring the provision of best practice, collaboration and quality patient care for women and their families.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications (Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent) and proof of registration (AHPRA).
  • Midwifery Model of Care – Continuity of care caseload model working within the local agreement as per Nursing and Midwifery Award. Appointees will be required work on-call and benefit from an annualised salary.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
