Your new role:

Working under the direct or indirect supervision of a pharmacist, you will provide advanced pharmacy support services across a diverse range of healthcare settings, with your primary base at Eight Mile Plains Health Centre. You will contribute to patient care by:

  • Providing advanced pharmacy services and support for patients with complex conditions.
  • Educating patients on medication use and medication aids within your scope of practice.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams and liaising with healthcare and community providers.
  • Managing pharmacy stock, procurement, inventory and invoice processes.
  • Supporting PBS revenue services and medication delivery for eligible long-term patients.
  • Leading and contributing to quality improvement activities and work instruction reviews.
  • Providing mentoring and supervision to less experienced pharmacy assistants and technicians.
  • Undertaking ongoing professional development and contributing to a strong culture of patient safety and quality.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced pharmacy professional who can bring advanced knowledge, initiative and a strong commitment to quality healthcare, with:

  • Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support or equivalent, including the Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock (HLTPA001) module.
  • Demonstrated advanced pharmacy knowledge, computer literacy and understanding of medical terminology and general medical conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and healthcare providers.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to quality improvement activities.
  • The ability to work within your scope of practice and under pharmacist supervision in a complex healthcare environment.
  • A willingness to mentor and support less experienced team members.

The role participates in a 7-day extended-hours roster, including weekends and public holidays, and may involve rotation across Logan Beaudesert Health Service sites, including Beaudesert Hospital. A Class C driver's licence is required.

Eight Mile Plains Satellite Health Centre, Maroo-goodji-ba:

The satellite health centre is also known as Maroo-goodji-ba, a name chosen by the community and local Traditional Owners and Elders means ‘peace, wellbeing and place of red earth' in the Yagarabul language.

The satellite health centre treats minor illnesses and injuries that aren't life-threatening and also have a range of specialist services, including kidney dialysis, cancer day therapy and mental, allied health and outpatient services.
