About us:

The Medical Workforce Support Unit (MWSU) is where the action happens behind the scenes, helping build and support a strong medical workforce across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).

We work closely with Executive leaders, Clinical Directors and medical teams to attract, recruit, onboard and support medical staff — from interns and junior doctors to senior specialists and locums.

Our team keeps everything moving, from recruitment and term allocations to credentialing, registration, immigration and clinical governance.

We also work alongside the Medical Education Unit to make sure workforce needs, education and quality patient care are all working together.

About the role:

  • Own the journey. Manage junior doctor recruitment from first application through to appointment, onboarding and arrival across CQHHS.
  • Master the medical calendar. Coordinate annual Intern and RMO campaigns, term allocations and planned leave to make sure the right people are in the right places at the right time.
  • Keep the essentials on track. Manage AHPRA registration, visas, provider and prescriber numbers, contracts and key governance requirements — making sure everything is current, compliant and ready to go.
  • Be the workforce expert. Provide trusted advice to doctors, Clinical Directors and Executive leaders, build strong relationships and contribute to workforce planning, recruitment strategies and continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Understand the world of medical careers, registration, training pathways, recruitment, retention, immigration and the rules that keep it all moving.
  • Confident negotiating complex or sensitive matters and building strong, productive relationships across all levels.
  • Can juggle competing priorities, work independently, solve complex problems and keep things moving when the pressure is on.
  • Strong communicator who can turn information into clear reports, stats and insights that help shape smart workforce decisions.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,030 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $56.48 - $61.45 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Additional Benefits:

  • Ongoing Professional Development and Education Opportunities
  • Flexible Work-Life Balance and Variety
  • Generous Salary Sacrificing Options
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Discounted Private Health Insurance
  • Fitness Passport

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
