Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery

Shape the future of nursing and midwifery across Central Queensland Health as our Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic, professional and operational leadership for more than 2,200 nurses and midwives across a diverse and geographically dispersed health service.
Reporting directly to the Health Service Chief Executive, you will influence organisation-wide strategy, workforce transformation, clinical governance, quality, innovation and models of care. This is an opportunity to lead at system level, strengthen professional practice and workforce capability, and help deliver safe, equitable and connected care for communities across Central Queensland.

About the role:
As Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, you will hold the single point of professional accountability for nursing and midwifery across CQ and serve as an equal and collaborative member of the Health Service Executive.
Reporting directly to the Health Service Chief Executive, you will provide the highest level of professional advice to the CE and Board and lead the strategic direction, governance and performance of nursing and midwifery across the organisation.
This is a broad executive portfolio encompassing professional practice, workforce strategy, clinical governance, safety and quality, education, research, innovation, performance and resource optimisation. You will lead workforce planning and capability, oversee professional and clinical governance frameworks, sponsor service redesign and system improvement, and ensure data and evidence inform executive decision-making.
About you:
You are an accomplished nursing and/or midwifery executive with the credibility, strategic capability and professional expertise to influence at Board, Executive and system level.
You bring contemporary professional knowledge and demonstrated success leading complex health services, translating strategy into measurable outcomes across workforce, quality, safety, access, performance and financial sustainability.
An influential and collaborative leader, you build strong partnerships, lead significant change and foster accountability, inclusion, cultural safety, innovation and high performance. You bring a system-wide perspective and a strong commitment to ensuring nursing and midwifery remain at the forefront of safe, equitable and contemporary healthcare across CQ.
Appointment requires registration as a nurse with AHPRA.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $302,422 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary of $265,059 p.a.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
