What your day could look like

As a Clinical Nurse - Paediatric Diabetes, you'll play an important role in helping children and their families navigate diabetes care with confidence. From providing expert clinical guidance to partnering with healthcare professionals, you'll contribute to safe, connected care and better long-term health outcomes.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering specialist diabetes education and care that empowers children and families to manage their health.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary care plans that support positive and consistent patient outcomes.
  • Using advanced clinical judgement to manage complex situations and guide evidence-based decisions.
  • Supporting service improvement, education and capability building across the wider healthcare team.

You're a compassionate and capable clinician who combines expert knowledge with a genuine commitment to making a difference for children and families. You'll take pride in creating positive outcomes while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge in paediatric diabetes care and education.
  • Strong clinical assessment, care coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative approach with a commitment to quality improvement, safety and professional growth.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate study in diabetes education or a related field and/or credentialing, or eligibility to obtain credentialing, as a Diabetes Educator.

Most importantly, you'll bring Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage to every interaction, helping improve the health and wellbeing of children and families across the region.
