Sustainability Senior Allied Health Clinician

The Sustainability Senior Allied Health Clinician provides high level clinical leadership to support to the delivery of Children's Health Queensland's (CHQ) environmental sustainability and climate resilience priorities. The role provides advanced clinical leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the CHQ Climate Risk and Environmental Sustainability Targets (CREST) Plan 2025–2029, co-ordinating sustainability programs and initiatives across clinical, corporate, and operational services.

About the Team
The CHQ Sustainability Unit is a specialist service within Children's Health Queensland that provides clinical leadership and expertise in environmentally sustainable healthcare. The team provides strategic direction, governance oversight, and practical implementation of sustainability initiatives across CHQ clinical, corporate, and operational services. Through collaboration, innovation, and evidence‑based practice, the unit supports CHQ's commitment to environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and the delivery of high‑quality, sustainable healthcare for children and families.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Coordinate the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the CREST Plan 2025–2029 and associated sustainability programs, ensuring effective governance, performance reporting and delivery of strategic sustainability outcomes across CHQ.
- Drive the development, implementation and evaluation of environmental sustainability initiatives, education programs and awareness activities that promote sustainable clinical and non-clinical waste management, resource recovery and circular economy principles across CHQ.
- Provide high level advice and support in environmental audits, climate risk assessments and lead the implementation of mitigation and adaptation strategies to strengthen organisational sustainability, compliance and climate resilience.
- Manage and provide strategic support to key environmental sustainability governance structures, including the CREST Action Group and CHQ Green Team, to drive organisational engagement, accountability and achievement of sustainability objectives.
