About the role

As a Security Officer Supervisor, you will oversee security operations during your shift, ensuring the delivery of high-quality security, safety, emergency response and asset protection services across Metro North Health facilities. Working closely with clinical teams and hospital staff, you will provide leadership and guidance to Security Officers while supporting the management of security incidents, emergency events, aggressive behaviours, patient-related security matters, and fire and safety responses.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Ensure that comprehensive security services and assistance is provided at all times to staff, patients, visitors and contractors whilst at the same time protecting the physical assets of the MNHHS.
  • Provide sound operational security service advice and guidance to subordinate Security Officers ensuring that security best practice is always adopted.
  • Ensure that Security Services provides a first response to all emergency situations including helipad operations.
  • Ensure that Security Services provides close personal protection to staff confronting aggressive and volatile situations in the provision of front line health services.
  • Prioritise and delegate tasks to ensure that requests for security and/or emergency assistance are responded to and provided in accordance with Queensland Health, Health Service, Facility and Unit guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.
