About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Director and Director of Cardiac Sciences, you will provide expert clinical leadership, operational management and strategic oversight of the Statewide Tele-Cardiac Investigation Service, a key component of the Heart Outreach Program for Health Equity (HOPE). You will lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, administration staff and medical trainees while working closely with healthcare professionals across Queensland to deliver high-quality, evidence-based cardiac diagnostic services through innovative telehealth models of care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Perform in a clinical consultant capacity across Queensland Tele-Cardiac Investigation services: provide expert level skills, knowledge, and contemporary Tele-Cardiac Investigation clinical practice for complex clinical presentations, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards. This position is recognised as a key resource for State-wide and National advice and clinical consultation utilising expert command of specialised skills.
- Provide authoritative clinical counsel and influence clinical service delivery, quality and standards relating to the specialist area of Tele-Cardiac Investigations to key stakeholders both within and outside the discipline and on a state-wide level.
- Communicate and network effectively within the Cardiac Investigation Unit multidisciplinary team, external groups (where relevant), support groups, community service providers and Cardiac Clinical Measurement Scientists to enhance decision making and provide strategic direction for Tele-Cardiac Investigations.
- Demonstrate high level communication skills to align the service vision, direction and ethical framework of the Tele-Cardiac Investigations multidisciplinary team and partnered HHSs to Statewide strategic priorities.
- Provide clinical governance leadership for the State-wide Tele-Cardiac Investigations program; lead clinical governance systems, processes and activities (partnering with consumers, policy and procedure development, risk and incident management, clinical practice standards, research and innovation, quality assurance, improvement and service redesign, occupational health and safety).
