About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.

Mareeba experiences a tropical savanna climate, characterized by a short, hot wet season and a long, warm dry season. Agriculture and tourism drive the local economy, with diverse tropical fruits, vegetables, poultry, and cattle contributing to the region's prosperity.
Mareeba Hospital provides healthcare services to the local community, supporting primary health centres and Lotus Glen Correctional Centre. It offers emergency care, medical imaging, maternity, and medical wards, along with a variety of specialist outpatient services.
The Mareeba Hospital Emergency Department provides a twenty-four-hour, seven day a week emergency service for the assessment, treatment, admission, transfer and discharge of adults and children with emergent, urgent, and non-urgent illnesses and injuries.
About your role:
Clinical care provided in the Emergency Department is based on the rural generalist model of care. This model is supported by a clinical staffing configuration that supports sustainability and retention of clinical staff and services across the facility.
Your main tasks may include (but are not limited to):

Full patient assessments.

Direct patient care
-
Performing vitals, ECGs, urinalysis and other testing.

Triage (with relevant experience).

Resus (with relevant experience).
