Your new role:

As the Pharmacist – Advanced Clinical Leader, you will provide advanced clinical pharmacy services across surgical services and associated clinics at QEII Jubilee Hospital, while providing professional leadership to a multidisciplinary pharmacy team. You will play a key role in delivering excellence in patient care, education, research and service improvement.

  • Provide advanced clinical leadership across surgical pharmacy services, applying independent professional judgement to complex patients and providing expert advice on urgent and emerging clinical issues.
  • Lead and support a high-performing pharmacy team, including pharmacists, interns, students and pharmacy support staff, through clinical supervision, mentoring, education, workforce planning and professional development.
  • Drive innovation and service improvement by developing and implementing evidence-based clinical practices, procedures and models of care that enhance pharmacy services and patient outcomes.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced pharmacist who brings advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership capability and a commitment to delivering innovative, patient-centred care.

  • You demonstrate advanced clinical pharmacy expertise and the ability to independently apply evidence-based knowledge and professional judgement when managing complex clinical situations.
  • You have strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills, with experience working effectively within complex multidisciplinary environments and supporting positive team outcomes.
  • You can lead and develop people, with the ability to supervise staff, manage workloads and rostering, provide mentoring and support professional capability and performance.
  • You demonstrate a commitment to innovation, research and continuous improvement, with the ability to develop, implement and evaluate clinical practices, service models, procedures and protocols.

About us:

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
