Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse – Clinical Facilitator, you'll provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist nursing expertise in the management of patients with complex spinal injuries. Working autonomously within the healthcare team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting clinical education, professional development, research and service improvement.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Provide expert clinical leadership in assessment, care planning and complex patient management.
- Support and coordinate clinical education, teaching, orientation and professional development.
- Facilitate evidence-based practice, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and research.
- Lead and support nursing teams through mentoring, coaching, delegation and role modelling.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of clinical procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines.
- Support undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students through orientation, supervision and constructive feedback.
About you:
You're an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge, strong critical thinking skills and a passion for developing others. You'll bring specialist nursing expertise, effective communication and a collaborative approach to clinical leadership, education and continuous improvement.
You'll bring:
- Registered Nurse qualification and current registration with the NMBA.
- Advanced clinical assessment, planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Contemporary specialist nursing knowledge and evidence-based practice capability.
- Strong clinical leadership, delegation, communication and decision-making skills.
- Experience supporting education, teaching and professional development.

About us:
Spinal Injuries Unit is a part of the Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS) and is a 40 bed unit serving all of Queensland. It is situated at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, near all other acute medical services that are required to successfully manage a person with spinal cord injuries. Rehabilitation services are provided by an experienced multi-disciplinary professional team. It is the only Spinal Injuries Unit in Queensland. It provides a unique service being the only Spinal Injuries Unit in Australia that provides acute care, primary rehabilitation, transitional rehabilitation, outpatient services and outreach services and readmission care from the one facility.
