About the role

Lead a dedicated Orthopaedic nursing team at The Prince Charles Hospital and play a key role in shaping the delivery of high-quality patient care within Ward 2D. This leadership opportunity is suited to an experienced nursing professional who is passionate about service excellence, workforce development and achieving outstanding outcomes for patients undergoing elective and emergency orthopaedic surgery.

Reporting to the Assistant Nursing Director, Surgery and Critical Care Program, you will be responsible for the operational, clinical and professional leadership of the ward. The role combines advanced nursing practice with strategic workforce management, quality improvement, education and resource management, supporting a culture of accountability, innovation and person-centred care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced clinical and operational leadership to support the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred orthopaedic nursing services.
  • Lead, coordinate and develop a high-performing nursing team while promoting a positive workplace culture, staff engagement and professional growth.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, nursing practice standards and performance indicators while driving quality improvement, education and research initiatives.
  • Manage human, financial and material resources effectively to achieve service objectives and support efficient healthcare delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes, advance clinical practice and support strategic service priorities.
