The location

Charters Towers is one a beautiful inland town in Queensland, with its unrivalled architecture and unique history. Discover this enchanting outback town which is just 90 minutes west of Townsville. 

About the opportunity   

The purpose of the role is to provide operational services as outlined below to internal and external clients of Eventide Residential Aged Care facility and other sites within Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Some of the role responsibilities

  • Perform a range of tasks of a complex nature, and operate equipment which requires specific levels of skill, training and experience and not subject to licensing required of other trade categories.
  • Assist in the establishment, cultivation, maintenance and upkeep of the gardens and grounds of the Charters Towers Hospital premises, ERACF and CTRU as well as Queensland Health Housing, to provide a safe and environment for staff and residents.
  • Abide by Annual Planned Schedule of Works (detailing priorities and initiatives) for the delivery of the Charters Towers Facilities Maintenance Plan.
  • Assist with coordination of quotations for landscaping works.
  • Liaise with Team Leader and Contractors for quotations and supervise contractor/sub-contractor works for quality/safety.
  • Monitor Grounds Team materials and equipment holdings to ensure efficient, effective and safe service delivery.
  • Ensure works are undertaken with minimal disruption to staff and consumers/visitors.

Requirements:

  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.</
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • The possession of a licence to operate (Class C) vehicle would be considered desirable, but is not mandatory.

Competitive salary and benefits:

  • Salary range: $2519.00 - $2687.60 p.f. (OO2)
  • Locality allowance
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
