About us:
Surgical South provides elective and emergency services for the patients within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. Surgical South is located on 5th Floor D Block, Cairns Hospital and is under the Directorate of Intensive Care, Women's and Peri-operative Services. Surgical South is a 32 bed ward that caters for the specialties of Urology, Plastics and Burns, Colorectal, Gastro-Intestinal, Hepatobiliary, Breast Surgery, and General Surgery.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will:
- Deliver exceptional patient-centred care across the surgical journey, including pre- and post-operative management.
- Provide advanced clinical care, including complex medication administration, IV therapy, wound management, surgical drain care, and trauma nursing.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support patient education, discharge planning, and positive patient outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including quality activities, audits, and accreditation standards.
