About your Role:
The Career Development Program (CDP) is an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses who have completed their first year of practice and are seeking to develop expertise in various specialist areas within the Cairns Hospital.
The CDP supports Registered Nurses to transition into a specialty area of practice through a structured learning environment across a 12 to 24-month program (speciality specific).
Participants will develop the knowledge and skills required to care for patients with complex diagnoses and treatments while working toward postgraduate study pathways.
The specialist areas within the Cairns Hospital offering a CDP are:
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Operating Theatre (OT)
- Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU)
- Endoscopy Unit
- Paediatric and Adolescent Unit
- Haematology and Oncology Day Unit & Cancer Care Ward
