About us:
Gladstone Hospital Emergency department is transitioning into newly constructed $42 million state of art emergency department. The Hospital is a 70-bed facility providing a diverse range of general and specialist inpatient, outpatient, emergency, maternity and community-based services.
Supported by approximately 282 full-time equivalent staff, the hospital delivers comprehensive care across acute, community and primary healthcare, including general medicine and surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health and allied health services.
About the role:
- Develop and implement a contemporary, evidence-based model of care that delivers safe, efficient and patient-focused emergency services across Gladstone Hospital.
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care, support clinical governance, and drive quality improvement, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the Director of Emergency Medicine while supervising and mentoring medical, nursing and allied health staff, including specialist trainees, junior doctors and medical students.
- Strengthen emergency medicine services across Central Queensland, including providing clinical support through Telehealth and working across CQ Health facilities as required.
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, professional development and the delivery of specialist training programs, including pathways towards FACEM and FACRRM.
About you:
- Mandatory: MBBS or equivalent to be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). *Additional requirements listed on the Role Description.
- Leadership skills which prioritise quality, safety and risk and supports continuous improvement.
- Significant clinical experience and skills in the provision of emergency medical care; Sound understanding of contemporary Emergency Department models of care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead service improvement through forms of quality improvement activities.
- Developed leadership skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate with professional staff, the public and others.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $652,478 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $193,191 - $199,233 p.a. (L13 – L14)
- A salary rate between $193,191 - $223,136 p.a. (L13 – L18)
- A salary rate between $223,136 - $259,187 p.a. (L18 – L24)
- A salary rate between $259,187 - $266,839 p.a. (L18 – L25)
- A salary rate between $266,839 - $282,912 p.a. (L25 – L27)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
