About the work unit / facility
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics provides a comprehensive dietetic service to Townsville Hospital and Health Service consumers across the lifespan and care continuum. We provide a breadth of role diversity across all clinical specialties in the hospital setting, as well as in rehabilitation, community health and aged care. Operating within a tertiary referral service, and via our outreach services, our reach extends to surrounding areas of North Queensland. Our dietitians and nutrition assistants work collaboratively across the organisation, providing professional leadership to all dietetic services in the HHS to support service delivery, service development and appropriate standards of professional care.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Base salary range: $128,169 to $137,918 p.a. (HP4)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
The purpose of this role is to deliver senior dietetics services within the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and dietetic clinical education services across the health service.
This includes:
- Delivering high quality evidenced based dietetics clinical services to consumers within a highly functioning interprofessional team.
- Contribution to the advancement of quality dietetics services and optimal consumer care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.
- Providing supervision and training to less experienced clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants.
Requirements:
- Possession of a tertiary degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from an accredited tertiary institution (or equivalent) and the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) credential and eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia.
- Additional qualifications or experience in Clinical Education are highly desirable.
- The position contributes to a seven-day service including the provision of weekend services.
