About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service supports more than 250,000 people across Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda, the Central Highlands and parts of Central West Queensland.

Rockhampton is our main service hub, providing specialist mental health care, professional support, administration of the Mental Health Act 2016, program implementation and our Acute Inpatient Units.

Our Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) supports children and young people up to 18 years experiencing, or at risk of developing, severe or complex mental health challenges across Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Woorabinda and Mount Morgan.

CYMHS is part of our wider Child and Youth Services Team, alongside Evolve Therapeutic Services, Assertive Youth Outreach, and Youth Alcohol and Other Drugs.

About the role:

• Make a difference. Provide evidence-based assessment, counselling, crisis support and therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health challenges, working alongside their families and carers.
• Be part of the team. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, case management, treatment plans, follow-up and discharge planning, always keeping the young person at the centre.
• Build connections. Partner with schools, Child Safety, community organisations and other services to create strong support networks around young people and their families.
• Grow and lead. Contribute to service improvement, share your clinical knowledge, support students and less-experienced practitioners, and help build a stronger mental health service for our community.

About you:

• Hold the required professional qualification and registration/membership. Postgraduate mental health qualifications, Authorised Mental Health Practitioner eligibility, and AASW Mental Health Social Worker accreditation are highly regarded.
• Bring strong knowledge of child development and recovery-focused mental health care, with the skills to assess, plan, treat and support children, young people and their families.
• Communicate confidently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, schools, government and community services to create the best possible support around each young person.
• Manage your time effectively, use evidence-based practice, and contribute to your own professional development while sharing knowledge and supporting the growth of others.

Mental Health Clinicians

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:

• Occupational Therapy
• Psychology
• Social Work

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $98,099 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
