About the work unit:
The Surgical Clinics facilitate specialist outpatient services for Ophthalmology, General and Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Vascular, Facio-Maxillary, Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Preadmission services. Surgical Outpatients also provides Plaster Technicians, Stomal Therapist and Colorectal services within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). Surgical Clinics has approximately 4000 occasions of service (OOS) per month.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $114,532 to $122,643 p.a. (NG6-1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
About your opportunity:
The Clinical Nurse in Surgical Outpatients provides clinical expertise, support and education to both patients and nursing staff, to ensure the delivery of best practice and high-quality patient care. The role work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support the coordination of care throughout Surgical Outpatients.
This position is primarily a Monday to Friday daytime role within Surgical Outpatients. However, the successful applicant has the opportunity to work across other shift types such as post-operative weekend clinic as required in supporting service delivery.
There is a permanent full-time vacancy and 2 x permanent part-time vacancies, up to 64 hours per fortnight each.
Requirements:
- Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (AHPRA).
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
