Your new role:

As an Administration Officer within the Surgical Admissions Unit, you will play an important role in supporting patients, clinicians and the wider surgical service through efficient, accurate and compassionate administration, including:

• Managing elective surgery admissions, patient bookings and surgical waiting lists.
• Providing high-quality customer service to patients, staff, clinicians and external agencies.
• Completing accurate and timely data entry across relevant Queensland Health information systems.
• Managing bookings, cancellations, rescheduling and waiting-list updates within required timeframes.
• Supporting the efficient use of available surgical booking time.
• Liaising with relevant teams regarding admission, revenue and patient information.
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while confidently managing priorities and deadlines.

About you:

You will be an organised and customer-focused administrator who can build positive relationships and deliver accurate work in a busy healthcare environment, with:

• Strong administrative, organisational and planning skills.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong commitment to customer service, empathy and confidentiality.
