Your new role:

In this rewarding Advanced Peer Worker role, you'll use your lived/living experience to support consumers receiving acute mental health care in their own homes.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Provide peer support - Offer individual and group peer support, advocacy and education to help consumers build independence and resilience.
• Model recovery - Share your lived/living experience to inspire hope, support goal setting and demonstrate practical recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with the MH HITH team - Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high quality care in line with peer work values.
• Enhance consumer engagement - Create innovative opportunities to improve consumer, carer and family experiences across the service.

This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement that candidates are persons who have a lived/living experience of mental health challenges, substance use challenges, service use and recovery. Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services provide inpatient, hospital-based and community mental health and community alcohol and drug services for all age groups across a number of campuses.
