About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug care across Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda and the Central Highlands, supporting a catchment of more than 250,000 peopleRockhampton is the principal service centre, providing medical coverage, professional supervision, Mental Health Act 2016 support, accreditation and program implementation, as well as acute inpatient services. Rockhampton Hospital is also home to the Mental Health Inpatient Unit, Older Persons Inpatient Unit and Acute Care Team.

About the role:

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to older people experiencing mental illness within a community mental health setting.
• Provide comprehensive clinical assessment and treatment, including diagnosis, intervention, case management, follow-up and group work as required.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating care, consulting with referring services, supporting discharge planning and evaluating outcomes.
• Apply strong clinical judgement and problem-solving skills to complex mental health presentations, using contemporary clinical practices and professional standards.

About you:

• Competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with a basic understanding of recovery focussed Mental Health care.
• An ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team utilising comprehensive communication skills to stablish effective partnerships and provide consultation to the team as well as other government and non-government services providers.
• An ability to deliver routine older persons mental health clinical services utilising time management and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to contribute to the professional development of self and others through education, professional networking and application of evidence-based practice.

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:

• Occupational Therapy
• Psychology
• Social Work

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $11,047 p.m. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
