About the work unit / facility

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics provides a comprehensive dietetic service to Townsville Hospital and Health Service consumers across the lifespan and care continuum. We offer a diverse range of roles across all clinical specialties in the hospital setting, as well as in rehabilitation, community health and aged care. Our dietitians and nutrition assistants work collaboratively across the organisation, providing professional leadership to all dietetic services in the HHS to support service delivery, service development and appropriate standards of professional care.

• Base salary range: $128,169 to $137,918 p.a. (HP4)
• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetics Department within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. As the Acute Senior Dietitian you will work within a collaborative, teams-based dietetics service model, to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic services across Townsville University Hospital's surgical wards and ICU.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced clinical care, act as a senior reference point for complex cases, advocate for nutrition and dietetics within the service group and contribute to service development, quality improvement, and research. The role also includes supervising HP3 dietitians, students, and clinical assistants, strengthening team capability and supporting a culture of continuous learning. With a strong focus on person-centred care, you will use your clinical expertise, communication, and leadership skills to make a meaningful impact on service delivery and patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Possession of a tertiary degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognised tertiary institution, Accredited Practising Dietitian credential, and eligibility for membership with the Dietitians Association of Australia.
• The position contributes to a seven-day service including the provision of weekend services.
