About the role
In collaboration with the WMH executive, clinical leads and community stakeholders this role ensures culturally responsive health service delivery, provides professional leadership, advice, advocacy, and support for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce professions throughout WMH and advice to executives and senior roles on all aspects of the professions including strategic workforce and policy planning.
The role directs the operations of clinical governance, credentialing, workforce redesign, education and research frameworks for the Professions in conjunction with Medical, Nursing and Midwifery and Allied Health professional leads.

Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
- An Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a person who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is either:
- of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; or
- accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which he or she lives.
- Current registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board, and
- A relevant Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or higher qualification.
- Should the successful applicant not hold some or all of the required qualifications and registrations listed above, they may be appointed under the ‘no qualification' classification and employment arrangements until all requirements are met.
