About us:
The Mental Health Alcohol, and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) is responsible for delivering services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs services in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion

About your opportunity:
In this position you will…
- Apply professional judgement to complex cases, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes related to Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) triage, referrals and actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of intake and referral services.
- Provide high level clinical practice supervision and mentoring to less experienced practitioners and students to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards.
