The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Measurement Scientist - Senior (Echocardiography) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver high level echocardiography clinical and consultancy services
- Exercise independent professional decision making and judgement on a day to day basis
- Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Co-ordinate activity and resources to ensure departmental services are maintained
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Tertiary degree in health science (or equivalent), with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology
- Possession of an approved graduate diploma in cardiac/echocardiography
- Registration or the eligibility for registration with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (up to six months with the possibility of extension, 60.8 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour

The Clinical Measurements Unit (Cardiac) offers a wide range of cardiac diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise stress echocardiography, dobutamine stress echocardiography, pacemaker/implantable cardioverter defibrillator interrogation and programming, cardiac electrophysiology studies, cardiac catheterisation monitoring, exercise stress testing, electrocardiograms, tilt tables testing, Ambulatory Blood Pressure (APB) monitoring, Holter and event monitoring.
