About us:
Our brand-new 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service has opened at the Rockhampton Hospital, marking an exciting new chapter for mental health care across Central Queensland.
This state-of-the-art facility has been purposefully designed to support recovery, safety and wellbeing. It features high and low dependency units, dedicated therapy spaces, modern administrative areas and indoor garden spaces, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both consumers and staff.
The new service will strengthen access to specialist inpatient mental health care for communities across Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana regions. Are you ready to be a part of it?
About the role:
- Provide high-quality Social Work assessment, intervention, risk management and discharge planning for consumers with complex and acute mental health presentations.
- Work collaboratively within the inpatient team to develop recovery-focused care plans and support consumers, families, carers and significant others.
- Act as a senior clinical resource, supporting complex cases while providing supervision, education and mentoring to staff, students and less experienced practitioners.
- Contribute to the development of models of care, service integration, clinical governance, quality improvement and best-practice approaches within the new inpatient facility.
- Advocate for consumers' rights and needs while applying trauma-informed, culturally responsive and least-restrictive practices to improve outcomes for individuals.
About you:
- A recognised Social Work degree and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong experience delivering evidence-based Social Work assessment and intervention for people experiencing acute and complex inpatient mental health presentations.
- Advanced professional judgement and expertise in risk assessment, formulation and clinical decision-making within a multidisciplinary environment.
- The ability to influence practice, contribute meaningfully to a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships through highly developed communication and engagement skills.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
