Be part of something new! Join us as we step into the future of mental health care in Central Queensland with the opening of our brand-new Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital.
Our new 32-bed, state-of-the-art facility will feature high and low dependency units, therapy spaces, indoor gardens and purpose-designed spaces focused on consumer and staff wellbeing.
As part of CQMHAODS, you'll work alongside passionate multidisciplinary teams supporting communities across Central Queensland, from Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast to Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana.

About the role:
- Shape something new. Be part of a growing inpatient mental health service and help shape Occupational Therapy models, care pathways and best-practice approaches from the ground up.
- Bring your clinical expertise.Deliver high-level Occupational Therapy across assessment, intervention, risk management and discharge planning for consumers with complex and acute mental health presentations.
- Lead, support and inspire.Be a clinical go-to for your team, providing leadership, supervision, education and guidance to practitioners, students and support staff.
- Make care count. Champion recovery-focused, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice while advocating for consumers, contributing to quality improvement and helping create better outcomes for individuals, families and the wider community.
About you:
- Hold a recognised Occupational Therapy degree, current AHPRA registration and practising certificate, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
- Strong experience delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention for complex acute mental health presentations, with advanced clinical judgement and risk assessment skills.
- You know how to influence practice, contribute to service development and quality improvement, and bring your voice to a multidisciplinary team.
- Committed to ongoing learning, reflective practice, culturally responsive care and creating a safe, ethical and recovery-focused environment for consumers.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
