The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Protective Services Supervisor to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Supervise, work with and motivate a team of security officer ensuring that professional standards are maintained
- Facilitate training for Security Officers in security processes
- Ensure all shift security incidents are reported to enable reporting of adverse trends to senior management
- Undertake the performance appraisal and development of subordinate staff
- Assist with emergency responses as directed
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
- While not mandatory, possession of a current Security Officer License under the Security Providers Act and/or completion of the following courses/programs would be well regarded: Queensland Health Certificate Level III Aggressive Behaviour Management Course and/or Certificate IV training programs: Security and Risk Management, Training and Evaluation and Frontline Management.

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $78,007 - $85,320 per annum
