Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. The Allied Health/Health Practitioner cadet performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire an entry level (mandatory) qualification for employment.
About the role
The Allied Health/Health Practitioner cadet performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire an entry level (mandatory) qualification for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Queensland Health's values:
- Successfully complete all academic requirements and 456 hours (60 days) of paid placement within 12 months.
- Perform delegated clinical assessment, treatment, and care planning activities under allied health/health practitioner supervision.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, including maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, referrals, quality improvement projects, and ongoing training and development.
- Adhere to organisational policies, quality standards, and workplace health and safety requirements to deliver safe, high-quality care.
