About us:

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) delivers healthcare to more than 230,000 people across a huge stretch of Central Queensland, from Rockhampton and Emerald to Gladstone, Banana and the surrounding communities.

With 22 facilities, including Rockhampton Hospital as our principal referral centre, there's plenty of variety, opportunity and room to grow.

Behind it all is a team of around 4,500 people who bring their skills, energy and local knowledge to one shared goal — providing great care for Central Queenslanders, wherever they live.

About the role:

Fancy building something from the ground up? This could be your opportunity to shape the future of health research across Central Queensland.

As the inaugural Research Development Manager, you'll help create the CQHHS Office for Research from the ground up, designing the systems, governance frameworks, capability programs and partnerships that will set the direction for research across the health service.

This is a role with plenty of scope. You'll be part architect, part connector and part governance expert, while also ensuring research at CQHHS meets the right legislative, regulatory and ethical standards.

About you:

  • You love building things. You're comfortable creating something from scratch, leading with confidence and helping shape a positive research culture.
  • You know your governance. You understand Australian human research legislation and ethics requirements and have experience with research governance, compliance and HREC processes.
  • You turn ideas into action. You can support researchers with proposals, protocols and grants, and understand clinical trial governance and funding pathways.
  • You're a strategic connector. You know how to build partnerships, advise senior leaders and grow research opportunities across universities, industry and research organisations.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $176,711 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $72.78 - $78.11 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Additional Benefits:

  • Flexible Work-Life Balance and Variety
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Fitness Passport

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.

How to apply:

To apply, please submit the following:

  • Your current CV or resume, including referees.
  • A cover letter (1-2 pages) addressing how your experience, skills and values align with the key responsibilities and expectations outlined in the Role Description.
  • Any additional forms / evidence as attached or listed on the Role Description.
