As a Senior Psychologist, you’ll support adults with complex and acute presentations, provide evidence-based psychological care, and work alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team to help consumers, families and carers feel supported and empowered.

Be part of something new! Join us as we step into the future of mental health care in Central Queensland, with the exciting opening of a brand-new Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital.

Our Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service supports communities across Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana regions, delivering specialist care that helps people feel supported, connected and empowered on their recovery journey.

The new 32-bed state-of-the-art facility will feature high and low dependency units, therapy spaces, indoor garden areas and purpose-designed spaces focused on the wellbeing of consumers and staff.

Working alongside inpatient, community and primary health partners, you'll be part of a passionate multidisciplinary team focused on recovery, connection and better mental health outcomes.

About the role:

  • Make a meaningful difference. Provide high-quality clinical psychology care for adults with complex and acute mental health presentations, from assessment and intervention through to risk management and discharge planning.
  • Be part of the team. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver recovery-focused, trauma-informed care that supports consumers, families, carers and significant others.
  • Lead, guide and grow. Be a clinical leader and go-to expert, providing supervision, mentoring, education and support to help build confidence and capability across the team.
  • Shape better care. Use evidence-based practice, strong communication and clinical expertise to advocate for consumers, contribute to quality improvement and help create safer, more effective and culturally responsive services.

About you:

  • You're a registered Psychologist with PsyBA/AHPRA and a current practising certificate. Postgraduate qualifications or endorsement in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or Health Psychology are highly regarded.
  • Bring strong expertise in evidence-based assessment and intervention, with the clinical judgement to manage complex presentations, risk and decision-making in an inpatient setting.
  • Communicate with confidence, build strong multidisciplinary relationships and use your expertise to support better clinical practice and service development.
  • Committed to reflective practice, professional growth, culturally responsive care and creating a safe, recovery-focused environment for consumers.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
