Your new role:

As a Clinical Midwife, you'll use your advanced clinical expertise, leadership and problem-solving skills to deliver safe, individualised and woman-centred maternity care while supporting the team to achieve high-quality outcomes. Your role will include:

  • Providing specialist midwifery care for women with complex care needs across the maternity journey.
  • Working autonomously while providing clinical leadership, guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Developing and coordinating individualised antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care plans.
  • Promoting informed choice, advocacy, continuity of care and culturally safe practice.
  • Supporting evidence-based practice, quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management.
  • Mentoring, educating and supporting midwives, students and other team members.
  • Working collaboratively with women, families, multidisciplinary teams and community services.

About you:

We're looking for an experienced midwife who combines strong clinical capability with a commitment to woman-centred care, collaboration and professional leadership, with:

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Midwife.
  • A tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge, assessment and care-planning skills across midwifery practice.
  • Experience managing complex midwifery care and making sound clinical decisions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, delegation and problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to apply contemporary evidence and research to clinical practice.
  • Experience supporting the education, mentoring and professional development of others.
  • Current competence in fetal surveillance, including FSEP and K2, and advanced neonatal resuscitation competency.

A postgraduate qualification, or current enrolment in a relevant postgraduate program, is highly desirable.

Logan Hospital:

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
