About your opportunity

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is commencing CT services in Ingham in October 2026! We are looking for a talented part-time radiographer to join our imaging team in Ingham and bring this service to life. As a HP4 Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to the community of Ingham. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and collaborative team during a period of growth, with the introduction of Computed Tomography (CT) services to the existing Medical Imaging Department.

Competitive salary and benefits:

  • Salary range: $64.64 to $69.55 p.h (HP4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Mandatory tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging Technology, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a current annual practicing certificate, eligibility to be accredited by the relevant professional body and the ability to hold a radiation licence in Queensland in line with Radiation Health requirements, is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with professional registration requirements.
  • Highly desirable:  Postgraduate qualification in a relevant medical imaging specialty (e.g. Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, or Image Interpretation).
  • Highly desirable: Certification or accreditation through the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) in Computed Tomography or Preliminary Image Evaluation (PIE).
  • Highly desirable: Experience in rural and remote service delivery, including independent clinical decision-making across a broad range of general radiographic examinations.
  • Travel: This position may be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. Travel on small planes or ferry may be required. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
  • The incumbent may be required to operate a Class C Motor vehicle while completing their duties, therefore candidates should hold the appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
