What you'll do

As the Data Collection Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate key data collections to meet state and national reporting requirements, ensuring the delivery of accurate, reliable and timely information. You will oversee data validation, quality assurance and coding activities, monitor performance and service standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, efficiency and responsiveness. Working within a strong governance framework, you will ensure compliance with legislative, privacy and data management requirements, identify and mitigate risks, and contribute to the development of best-practice data collection methodologies, systems and processes. You will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to a high-performing team, while building strong relationships with data providers, custodians and stakeholders. The role also involves analysing complex data issues and trends, providing expert advice and recommendations, and using sound judgement to resolve challenges and support informed decision-making across the health system.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

  • Experience managing and improving complex data collections and processes.
  • Experience using data tools and systems with respect to data collection, management, and dissemination.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including negotiation and influencing.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to acquire, relevant classification systems and health data standards.
