About us:
General Medicine at Rockhampton Hospital provides 24/7 care for a diverse range of acute and chronic medical conditions, serving as a major referral centre for Central Queensland and the Central West. The service manages complex presentations including stroke and transient ischaemic attack, high-dependency care and non-invasive ventilation, telemetry, delirium, infectious and renal conditions, ICU/CCU step-down care, and alcohol and drug detoxification.
The 32-bed Medical Ward includes negative-pressure, single and double rooms, with care delivered through a strong multidisciplinary team spanning nursing, medicine, allied health and specialist support. Care also extends across Medical Level 1, MAPU, ED, Emergency Short Stay and Cardiac Ward, giving clinicians exposure to a broad and varied patient mix.
About the role:
- Provide advanced, person-centred care across General Medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing patient management.
- Practise autonomously as a Nurse Practitioner, using advanced clinical judgement and evidence-based practice within the approved scope of practice.
- Coordinate complex patient care across the General Medicine journey, including clinical optimisation, discharge planning and safe transitions of care.
- Lead clinical improvement and innovation through research, audits, data analysis, quality initiatives and evidence-based practice improvements.
- Lead, educate and build capability across the multidisciplinary team through clinical leadership, mentorship, professional development and knowledge sharing.
About you:
- Master's in nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with NMBA and AHPRA.
- Minimum 5 years' clinical experience, with advanced and expanded clinical knowledge and skills in General Medicine nursing.
- Demonstrated ability to provide and coordinate comprehensive, contemporary, person-centred care, including in stable, unpredictable and complex situations.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous quality improvement, research, evidence-based practice and leading innovation to improve patient and service outcomes.
- Advanced interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage and motivate patients and teams, develop self and others, practise reflectively and work with integrity toward patient, unit and organisational goals.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $188,624 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $79.85 - $83.37 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
