About us:
General Medicine at Rockhampton Hospital provides 24/7 care for a diverse and complex mix of acute and chronic medical conditions, serving as a major referral service for Central Queensland and the Central West. The 32-bed Medical Ward manages everything from stroke and high-dependency care, including non-invasive ventilation and telemetry, to infectious diseases, renal conditions, delirium and alcohol and drug detoxification. Care extends across the hospital, including MAPU, Emergency, Cardiac Ward and Medical Level 1, supported by a broad multidisciplinary team of specialist clinicians and allied health professionals.
About the role:
- Build expert knowledge, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies while working towards Nurse Practitioner endorsement in General Medicine.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients with varying levels of complexity, using evidence-based practice and sound clinical judgement.
- Work across General Medicine to optimise care, support discharge planning and facilitate safe transitions.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship and education, role model high standards of care and support the development of colleagues across the healthcare team.
- Contribute to research, audit, data analysis and quality improvement initiatives that strengthen patient outcomes, clinical effectiveness and service delivery.
About you:
- Registered Nurse with current NMBA/AHPRA registration and be studying an NMBA-approved Master of Nurse Practitioner that leads to endorsement.
- Hold postgraduate clinical qualifications at AQF Level 8 and demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, judgement, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Drive better practice through evidence-based care, quality improvement, research, innovation and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate leadership and a commitment to growth, including developing advanced clinical skills, supporting others through lifelong learning and progressing towards autonomous Nurse Practitioner practice.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $174,208 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $70.92 - $77.00 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
