About the role

As a Radiographer within the Department of Medical Imaging at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), you will deliver high-quality medical imaging services across a broad range of modalities, including CT, MRI, Angiography, Ultrasound, X-ray, Mammography and interventional imaging. You will provide patient-focused diagnostic services in a complex tertiary healthcare environment, supporting emergency, inpatient and outpatient care.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will perform imaging examinations, apply clinical judgement to support patient care, and contribute to education, quality improvement and service development activities. This role also includes participation in on-call and shift rosters to support a seven-day, 24-hour imaging service.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver professional, timely and patient-focused diagnostic imaging services across a variety of imaging modalities within a tertiary healthcare setting.
  • Apply independent clinical judgement when performing routine and increasingly complex imaging examinations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Provide supervision, education and support to students and less experienced staff, contributing to workforce capability and clinical excellence.
  • Participate in quality assurance, equipment testing and service improvement initiatives to support safe and effective imaging practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiographers, sonographers, medical officers, nursing staff and administration teams to deliver exceptional patient care and service outcomes.
