This Expression of Interest collects a variety of information that will help the Townsville Hospital and Health Service identify potentially suitable applicants for future Physiotherapy employment opportunities.

If deemed suitable your details will remain in the Clinical Talent Pool for a period of 12 months and you may be contacted further by the Physiotherapy Department at the time an opportunity arises.

Further participation in other recruitment selection processes (for example written application and/or interview) to further assess suitability for appointment to a specific position may be required. Specialty skills will be assessed to determine eligibility for available positions.

The Physiotherapy Department at the Townsville University Hospital is seeking Physiotherapists with varied experience to fill future vacancies. Roles to be filled through this recruitment process may be of a full-time or part-time nature. If you have a preference, please indicate this in the questionnaire included in the online application process.

The Physiotherapy Department provides services across the continuum of care to all appropriate patient groups across inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary settings. The department provides a twenty four hour service through an on-call and weekend roster.

Physiotherapists routinely work in intensive care, medical/surgical acute, musculoskeletal, rehabilitation, oncology, rural facilities, women's and children's areas, and community health. Junior staff members have the opportunity to rotate and gain experience in a variety of clinical areas and current structural arrangements offer excellent clinical support.

Requirements:

  • Minimum mandatory requirement of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Physiotherapy providing eligibility for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

Other information - Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD)

  • Roles that have a direct contact with patients or who in the course of their work may be exposed to blood/body fluids or contaminated sharps are required to be immunised for Hepatitis B.
  • Roles that have contact that would allow acquisition and/or transmission of measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and pertussis, and have face to face contact with patients and/or work in a clinical area require evidence of immunisation of the aforementioned diseases.
  • COVID-19 vaccination requirements: It is a mandatory condition of employment for the employee to be and remain vaccinated against COVID-19, as per Health Employment Directive 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
