What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $100,957 p.a., comprising base salary range of $54.44 - $58.30 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 6 - Band 1), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role
Townsville University Hospital (TUH) offers women various models of care within the hospital setting including a low-risk Birth Centre model and all risk Midwifery Group Practise model and has an established Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit. TUH has approximately 2600 births per year.

This role is a rotational midwifery position where the successful candidate will provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women in the Maternity Inpatient Unit and Birth Suite. Opportunities may also exist to rotate to antenatal clinics and home visiting midwifery services.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete mandatory competencies including the Extended Practice Authority for Midwives, Examination of the Newborn package, and the Water Immersion in Labour package, within three months of commencement.
